'Clown show': Another resignation as dysfunction and disunity plague House GOP
"Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson leads Congress to historic levels of inaction, another member announced his resignation, further shaving the already tiny GOP majority. Marjorie Taylor Greene today filed a motion to oust him from the speakership..." - MSNBC
These MAGA Republicans are paid $174,000 with your tax dollars for this?
How do you find and contact your elected rep? House Member or Senator? Where can you find information on current issues and calls for civic action? Resources to protect voting rights, women's freedoms and more? Try this free app.
Elected reps are paid to represent voters. Contacting them should be easier.
How can organizers direct public outrage to the right official? There are official lists but they often require multiple clicks and then the phone number has to be dialed manually. There are other good apps for organizers with more features but require funds. We decided to create a free app with GLIDE with information on house members of congress, Senators and other resources. Click them immediately. by clicking on on their phone number.
This 'app' does not require any software to be installed and works even without cell coverage (other than when you are trying to connect to a website). This app can be used on a phone, tablet or laptop. A search bar makes it easy to quickly find what you are looking for.
Information on groups and resources is powered by a backend database. Send details here on other resources that should be included.
I'm planning to extend this app to also include your state house and state senate rep, and to allow organizers to include a call script and have supporters send emails through the app as well. This app is built on the GLIDE platform which is an amazing tool.
Call Your Representatives
Calling your elected officials (or calling strangers on the phone in general) sounds difficult or nerve-wracking, but it's really easy and simple. When you have something that you care about in your community, and especially if you've heard that there is an opportunity for your elected representative to take action — whether through a vote, statement, or co-sponsoring of a bill — make a call.
What's going to happen is one of their staffers is going to pick up, and you can simply tell them, in a minute or two, what it is you care about. Use everyday language. For example: “Hey, I saw this thing in the news and it really matters to me. I'm asking that the representative/the senator/the congresswoman takes action to prevent this from happening.” - GoodGoodGood
