Team Unity Uses Geo-Targeting to Mobilize Black Voters In Georgia

Republican gerrymandering
Republicans use 'cracking' to divide Black voters into different districts to dilute their voting power. Republicans use 'packing' to stuff Black voters into a district like GA-02 to make it easier for Republicans to win in other districts.
Why are district boundaries important? It allows politicians to pick their voters and create conditions where the party drawing the maps can create favorable electoral conditions.
Republican lawmakers passed this map earlier in December during a special session and Gov. Brian Kemp signed the bills. Groups that sued the state over the 2021 districts say the GOP’s maps fall short of the judge’s order because they move around voters in a way that still denies Black voters representation.- AJC
Team Unity uses frugal innovation
Throwing money at a problem isn't the answer. Team Unity uses frugal innovation and street smarts instead. The result has been increased turnout among black voters. In 2024 the coalition has a specific goal of increasing black voter turnout in Georgia by at least 10% in 54 counties that represent 90% of the black vote. Many of these 54 counties are in Republican held congressional districts. So increasing the Black voter turnout there could help elect more Democrats.
TakeAway: Fight fire with fire! Use technology to mobilize voters.
